New Yorker - Walkabout

Walkabout

Hey guys,

I just finished this illustration for the New Yorker on an article about the 1971 film, Walkabout. Here is the description from IMDB:

Two young children are stranded in the Australian outback and are forced to cope on their own. They meet an Aborigine on "walkabout": a ritualistic banishment from his tribe.

This illustration depicts a specific scene where the Aborigine boy does a mating dance for the young girl. It should be in next week's issue. Click here to see the sketch thumbnails.

have a great week,

Frank
